|Why are you here?|
I just received my BS in biology, focusing on taking courses to get into medical school. During the years of my undergraduate career, many of the courses (such as biochemistry, evolutionary biology, evolutionary psychology, and ecology) had strong influences on my appreciation of human nature and our relationship with the planet. I read Ishmael about nine years ago, in high school, and remembered enjoying it (but forgot why). After re-reading the book once I finished my undergraduate program, I realized that many of the themes and ideas from the book were coming back to me through my courses. Re-reading the book has solidified many of the thoughts I was trying to elucidate in school, which has inspired me in so many ways.
