    Why are you here?

I'm an idealistic engineer -- I joined the profession to help people and to change the world for the better. But I hear the "Growth is Good" hum and I question it. Not all growth is good, not all change is for the better.

Any other personal information/resources/advice/ideas to share?

I wear a great many hats. For example, I was born to be a scientist -- to think critically, to question, investigate and experiment with everything. And I was also born to be an engineer -- I want to DO something with all the knowledge that I have gathered.

One of the things that I want to do is to create a new model for living (and working), one that encompasses the balanced approach that I think is critical for long term survival of the human race. Because life will go on on this planet with or without human beings. Even if we make this planet completely inhospitable for ourselves, I'm sure the roaches will survive.

However, I am idealistic enough to believe that we can do better than that. Human beings are intelligent enough to change their behavior, to live more lightly on the planet, to evolve in such a way that we ensure our own survival.

    Save the Humans!
