NASA report: Population and plant consumption not separate issues
"Humans are consuming an increasing amount of Earth's total annual land plant production, new NASA research has found." According to the report, if each person on the planet consumes at the current rate of North Americans, more than 50% of the Earth's plant production will be required each year to fee us. Right now, both population and per capita consumption are increasing. Check out the basics at Plant Consumption Rising in Science Daily. Thanks to Jonathan Spector for alerting us to this report. It is, as he says in his letter, "Scary stuff, indeed."
