Dr. Alan Thornhill is new Director of USGS Office of Science Quality and Integrity
If you regularly follow this website, you know that Alan was its initial creator and longtime webmaster. He and Daniel also partnered in the Food Production & Population Growth video, and he's our main source and advisor for all things scientific. After a two-year stint as the very first Chief Environmental Officer for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Alan has moved to another agency in the Department of Interior–the U.S. Geological Survey–and leadership of the Office that "monitors and enhances the integrity, quality, and health of USGS science." On its website the USGS describes the OSQI as "the bedrock of our science." We wish Alan well as he takes on this new opportunity to help make a difference in our country.
