Quinn Gives Keynote at Houston Youth Environmental Leadership Conference
Daniel Quinn's keynote address, "A Path of Hope for the Future," to an audience of 1,000 Houston area high school students set the stage for a day-long conference at the George R. Brown Convention Center January 26 at which the teenagers considered "Issues of the 21st Century." In his talk, Quinn assured the students that, even though they are made to feel that, if the world is going to be saved, it's all up to you because you're the leaders of tomorrow, they should not pay any attention to that guilt trip. "It's not all up to you," he told them. "It's up to all of us!"
Sponsored by Keep Houston Beautiful and the Mayor's Clean Neighborhoods Program, the conference enabled students to meet with representatives of groups such as Texas Parks and Wildlife, Urban Harvest, Texas Sea Grant, and Fifth Ward Community Services to explore possible ways to go in the future.
You'll be able to read this talk soon at A Path of Hope for the Future.
