The Ishmael Community: Questions and Answers

The Question (ID Number 151)...

Is there some way to be in community with other animist-oriented folks? I get a certain amount of a community feeling on this website, but real-life would be better. So, in a nutshell the question is: how do animists find support and community in the midst of the dominant culture?

    ...and the response:

I'm probably not the right person to answer this question. Animism is a worldview; I personally don't need support or community in order to maintain it---I wouldn't know how to go about getting rid of it, so I don't need any help keeping it. I hope I'm not providing the basis for a wave of cultists gathering around "animist" gurus in the manner of Jim Jones, Aum, and Heaven's Gate.
