  The Ishmael Community: Questions and Answers

The Question (ID Number 467)...

    If the taker culture has strayed away from the way the gods purposed it to be, why don't the gods do anything about it? For instance, why don't the gods destroy those who don't "live in their hands"? Or are they merely waiting for the takers to destroy themselves?

    ...and the response:

    The gods I speak of have created a world (and indeed a whole universe) that takes care of itself. If we continue to live as we do, the world will take care of us (by becoming uninhabitable by us). The gods I speak of (unlike the God of the bible) don't have to rush about "fixing" things; they did their work so well that intervention by them is unnecessary.
