    Why are you here?

I have just finished reading "Ishmael" and am interested in learning more. I would also like to meet other fellow searchers. For the past couple of decades my life has lost focus, and I have been drifting and not really caring where I was going. Accumulating stuff has not worked, but it has cost me a lot. I need a cheaper and better way to live. I am hoping that I can find some answers and gain a new life focus from what I can learn from this and other related sites.

Any other personal information/resources/advice/ideas to share?

Only recently have I begun to value the philosophy of simpler living. My first exposure to this philosophy was from the book "How to Survive Without a Salary" by Charles Long. I am interested in learning of tribal venture opportunities and making new friends. I am 53 years old, single, fully employed, no car, very bookish, love animals and intelligent conversation. I view the conserver lifestyle as the best way for me (maybe not everyone else) to live.
