    Why are you here?

I was first introduced to Ishmael by a teacher of mine who. I read the book and was amazed. I was already interested in the environment and conservation but Ishmael opened a whole new view on a wide array of issues. Since I read Ishmael I have read My Ishmael and just recently completed The Story of B. These are all amazing books. I am here so I can learn more about what I can Do. We cannot stand by silently as the food supply race is going on. As Quinn's parable The Sinking Ship put it. We must face this problem now, not the minor issues such as segregation, pro-life v. pro-choice, religion in school, etc. We must face the problem of learning how our species can live, with the rest of the species on our planet, not how we can live by exterminating them. For if we exterminate them then there will be no hope for us either.

Any other personal information/resources/advice/ideas to share?

I feel conservation is vitally important and as Quinn put it, we will not survive because of old minds with new programs, but because of new minds with no programs. I hope to make it my life work to change minds.
