    Why are you here?

I just read Ishmael-happened to pick it up in a used book store, not having ever heard of it, and was overwhelmed with the connections to where I have travelled (Gregory Bateson, The Continuum Effect, Green Party, etc). Happened to be reading it on an Amtrak train to LA and the person next to me had read it. Just happened that she tracks the spotted owl for a research project in Oregon. I am in the process of telling many others about the book and getting others on the list. Great that there is this community.

Any other personal information/resources/advice/ideas to share?

Strongly suggest anyone interested in these ideas read Mary Catherine Bateson's book, Our Own Metaphor, which is the proceedings of a conference put on in a castle in Austria by her father that brought together top minds in the world to discuss how to get the ecological perspective into the general population in a way that might more successfully bring about more behavior change than a consciously purposeful effort seemed to have done (stating the obvious over and over)at the time.
