    Why are you here?

Now there's and interesting question. I'm of the thinking that why isn't as important as the fact that I am here. But, I guess, like many of you, I am here because I was wandering around in culture, somewhat lost and desperate, and stumbled across a book that I thought made sense. I read it, explored the ideas, read more, looked around, put the ideas away for a while (because I didn't have the courage to be that radical) wandered some more, read some more, and finally concluded that it was this or oblivion.

Any other personal information/resources/advice/ideas to share?

I don't exactly have an occupation right now because, apparently no one wants to hire an anthropologist. Who would, afterall, want to employ someone that is just going to criticize their establishment. So, I don't blame them, but it certainly would be nice to have a certain degree of certaintly about the future, especially for my wife and son.
