Quinn Quote Wins
Speak Up, "an author-based, reader-supported community devoted to graphic design," has announced the winner of its recent quote-themed poster competition. He is Tristan Benedict-Hall, a graphic design student in Baltimore. Each of the 153 entrants in the competition selected one of 20,000 quotes to embody in a poster. Tristan chose "the genius of seeing that which is so evident as to be unseeable" from Beyond Civilization.
His winning poster can be seen at Poster Winner.
He comments: "I don't think the online representation of the poster does it justice. When viewed in full size, the message is much more difficult to read, and the viewer really needs to back up in order to see what is written. I thought this was important; the viewer needs to look at the poster differently, and see that it is actually the space 'between the lines' that defines the message. I would like the poster to encourage people to start trying to look at the world around them differently."
As the winner, 150-200 copies of Tristan's poster will be silk screened. If you're interested in acquiring one, the artist can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All 153 entries in the competition can be seen at Posters.
