Home again...home again...
Home at last! Daniel has "graduated" from the skilled nursing facility with top honors–they consider him a "poster child" for their rehab program, since he went from about zero ability to ten in the time he was there.
He has to keep up the work at home, of course, and so must be evaluated by the home health team of skilled nurse, physical therapist, and occupational therapist to see how much, if any, of those services he needs for transition back in his own environment. That starts tomorrow with a visit from the nurse.
It's great to have him back home! He looks at least ten years younger, is moving better than he has in years, and I anticipate will keep building on what he's accomplished over the past few months of hard labor under the guidance of his PT and OT therapists, along with changes in medications and the care and counsel of the medical staff.
Thanks so much to all of you who wrote to him. Your letters were a real inspiration and support for both of us.
