New Online Magazine for New Minds
A new online magazine has recently been launched. Mosaic— A Magazine of Arts, Sciences & Everything in Between — presents ideas on how the systems perspective can illuminate all aspects of our culture, from mundane things like the meaning of movies to enormous issues such as unsustainability. It is a magazine for "new minds" even as it also intends to interest— and, hopefully, change— "old minds," yet systems knowledge is not required of any readers. With contributors from around the globe, it will have a definitely international sensibility. But with systems thinking always focused on both the forest and the trees, it will also always look at issues in very local, personal and individual ways.
Mosaic was founded by Mark S. Meritt. Mark is a writer and composer who received a Theatre Arts degree from Cornell. More recently, he received a masters degree in Bioethics, Science and Society from the City University of New York. He is currently expanding his thesis on unsustainability, which was directly influenced by the work of Daniel Quinn, into a book.
