Is Academia Beginning To Accept Human Population-Food Production Link?
Russell Hopfenberg and David Pimentel (Duke and Cornell universities, respectively) recently published a paper entitled "Human Population Numbers as a Function of Food Supply" in the Journal Environment, Development and Sustainability that strongly supports the position taken by Daniel in Ishmael and The Story of B and by Daniel and biologist Alan D. Thornhill in the video presentation Food Production and Population Growth, distributed by New Tribal Ventures. This paper a is useful (though naturally rather technical) reply to those who continue to insist that population growth and decline in humans (unlike all other species) has nothing to do with food availability. Here's the abstract, and here is the entire paper: foodpopulation.pdf
