To me it seems that you discount the role of capitalism and imperialism in promoting population growth. Is this correct?
I’m not sure why it “seems” that way. I have pointed out to many audiences (if not anywhere in my books or on my website) that the noble efforts Takers have made to bring unasked-for technological help to “backward” peoples in the Third World (particularly in the area of agricultural technology) is clearly linked to capitalism’s fundamental need for an ever-expanding market. Wherever we bring our “enlightenment,” you can be sure that population growth will follow.
