The Turner Tomorrow competition, created “to encourage authors to write
fiction that produces creative and positive solutions to global problems,”
was a one-time thing, and there are no plans to repeat it. The winner,
announced in 1991, was ISHMAEL. Runners-up were THE BULLY PULPIT, by Andrew
Goldblatt, NATURAL ENEMIES, by Sara Cameron, and NECESSARY RISKS, by Janet
Keller, all published in 1992 or 1993 and all now out of print; as far as I
know, these authors haven’t published anything since. There is no website.
