Karl Marx was as much a captive of the Great Forgetting as, say, Freud or Ayn Rand. All of them “knew” that we are not humanity, but none of them let this interfere with creating systems based on the assumption that we are in fact humanity. Why would I study Marx’s theory of what works in human society when I can study what in fact worked in human society for three million years?
