The answer you’re looking for is found in my nonfiction work Beyond Civilization: Humanity’s Next Great Adventure.

The members of your community would be living as a tribe or as a collection of tribes. A tribe is nothing more than a small group of people making a living together. Aboriginal tribes make their living as hunter-gatherers or as agriculturalists.

Beyond Civilization shows that the specific occupation has nothing to do with tribalism, meaning that you don’t have to be hunter-gatherers or agriculturalists in order to have a tribe. My book gives examples of groups in modern American society making their living together (and it works really well).
